Two Men Catch Baby from a 30-ft Fall
Alex Day helped catch the 18-month old baby from a 30-ft fall.The reason behind the incident was unclear. But the child's father, Randall Clark, said that he was watching over his other 2-month old child in the other room when the incident happened. Police are still investigating further on the case.
The baby, Caliah Clark, was sent to a nearby hospital, but amazingly, she was okay without even a single broken bone.

Did you remember the slain toddler dubbed as "Baby Grace", who was found stuffed inside a plastic container and floating in Galveston Bay in 2007? If you do then you will surely be horrified by her story. She was beaten to death by her own mother and step father. The 2-year old victim, Riley Ann Sawyers, pleaded to her mother and step father to stop brutalizing her, but this didn't stop them.

During the opening statement of district attorney Kyla Allen for jurors, the day that she said Riley Ann died for forgetting to say "please" and "yes, sir."This story got me depressed. Taking the life of an innocent and helpless child is just so maddening!
Allen said that on July 25, 2007, Trenor and Zeigler disciplined Riley by whipping her with a belt, pushing her head against a pillow and holding her head under water. She said Zeigler grabbed Riley and tossed her across the room, fracturing her skull. An autopsy concluded the skull fractures caused her death.
"To the very end, Riley said, 'I love you' to her mom. She's reaching out," Allen said. "That's her lifeline, to her mother. What does Kim do after hearing her say I love you? She starts beating her."
Allen said the adults did nothing to help even as Riley lay dying.

From all the birth anomalies I've known, the case of this little boy with extra penis on his back really distressed me. He was born to a Chinese farmer dad Li Jun and his wife, who lived in Hejian City in China's Henan Province.
Good thing that this little boy was brought to Tianjin Children's Hospital on May 27 to remove the extra penile growth on his back. This rare condition is called Fetus in Fetu, a developmental abnormality in which the fetus gets enveloped inside its twin and the entire living organ system, with torso and limbs, develops inside the host. This abnormality occurs to 1 in 500,000 live births.
After spending 3 hours in the operating room, doctors have successfully removed the extra penis. The little boy was fine after the surgery.

Macie McCartney is a miracle baby - doctors saved her life, and along the way she was born twice.
If there is such term as prenatal repair, i think the case of Macie Hope MacCartney is the perfect example. She was born twice: at 6 months, she was removed from her mother's womb and returned after her tumor was successfully taken off.
At 6 months, close to being a fully developed baby, Doctors found out that she has a large tumor. This was discovered when her mother, Keri MacCartney, had gone for a routine ultrasound just to know the gender of the baby. However, what supposed to be an exciting moment became a frightening experience. The ultrasound revealed a massive tumor on the unborn baby. The tumor extends from her tailbone and was stealing the blood that she needed to live. According to doctors, if this condition is left untreated, it will surely kill the little girl before she will be born.
The team of surgeons, led by Dr. Kass, immediately decided to take the nerve racking operation of removing the baby to her mom's womb, remove the tumor, and return her again after all is done. During the operation, Keri was put into anesthesia, much deeper than usual so that her uterus would relax. Surgeons then exposed the uterus, cut where they would not damage the placenta, pulled most of the baby out and removed the tumor. They then had to ensure Keri's womb would hold amniotic fluid to keep the baby alive.Ten weeks later, May 3, 2008, Macie was born.
Black and White Twins
In February 2006, a bizarre case of a woman who gave birth to a twin black and white fraternal girls raved the UK newspapers. The odd of such birth are about a million to one, experts said.
"It was a shock when i realized that my twins were two different colors", Kylie Hodgson, 19, told the Daily Mail. "But it doesn't matter to us - they are our two gorgeous little girls".
Kylie and her partner Remi Horder were both born to mixed-raced parents. According to fertility experts, they suspect that a sperm contaning all-white genes had fused with an egg with an all-black genes, producing the fraternal twins.
The two angels were named Kian and Remee. Both have blue eyes, with Remee having blonde hair while Kian having black hair. As time passes by, Remee's skin tone has become lighter, while Kian's become darker and her eyes even turned brown.
Kian and Remee's case are indeed just among the rarest medical anomalies.
Harlequin Fetus: the scariest congenital birth defect
No other congenital birth defects are as disturbing to the eye than this photo of a baby that is suffering from a rare disease called Harlequin Ichthyosis or commonly known as Harlequin Fetus. In this rare genetic disorder, which occurs in 1 in 300,000 births, babies are born with a massive horny shell of dense platelike scales and contraction abnormalities of the eyes, ears, mouth and appendages. Basically, wherever a fold would normally occur in a newborn baby, these poor souls have cracks.
Most babies born with this condition die within the first few hours or days after birth from the undernourishment caused by the rigidity of the lips, and underventilation and pneumonia because of respiratory distress. Abnormal water loss through the skin and poor temperature regulation lead to risk for infection beginning in the skin as well.
What really causes Harlequin Fetus? The answer is unknown but this disease is commonly inherited from the parents. Most often, the parents of an individual with an autosomal recessive condition, each carry one copy of the mutated gene, but do not show signs and symptoms of the condition. The mutated gene can be passed to the developing fetus, resulting to this really horrific malady.
All i can say is that, these babies are fortunate enough not to survive than be punished by the excruciating pain and suffering that this disease will surely bring throughout their lifetime.
