Boogers as Immune System Boosters
Picking your nose and eating it is one of the best ways to stay healthy. This is according to a top Austrian lung specialist Professor Dr. Friedrich Bischinger. "People who pick their noses with their fingers were healthy, happier and probably better in tune with their bodies". He further says that society should adopt a new approach to nose-picking and encourage children to take it up. "And eating the dry remains of what you pull out is a great way of strengthening the body's immune system. "Medically it makes great sense and is a perfectly natural thing to do. In terms of the immune system the nose is a filter in which a great deal of bacteria are collected, and when this mixture arrives in the intestines it works just like a medicine. "Modern medicine is constantly trying to do the same thing through far more complicated methods, people who pick their nose and eat it get a natural boost to their immune system for free."

what does your sleeping position say about you?
For years, sleep experts have studied the relationship of how we sleep and how we feel. They believe that there is a connection between our nocturnal contortions and our inner thoughts.
Professor Chris Idzikowski, director of the UK Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service analysed six common sleeping positions - and found that each is linked to a particular personality type.
What your sleeping position says about you ...
Foetus
Those who curl up in the foetus position are described as tough on the outside but sensitive at heart. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax. This is the most common sleeping position, adopted by 41% of the 1,000 people who took part in the survey. More than twice as many women as men tend to adopt this position.
Log
Lying on your side with both arms down by your side. These sleepers are easy going, social people who like being part of the in-crowd, and who are trusting of strangers. However, they may be gullible.
Yearner
People who sleep on their side with both arms out in front are said to have an open nature, but can be suspicious, cynical. They are slow to make up their minds, but once they have taken a decision, they are unlikely ever to change it.
Soldier
Lying on your back with both arms pinned to your sides. People who sleep in this position are generally quiet and reserved. They don't like a fuss, but set themselves and others high standards.
Freefall
Lying on your front with your hands around the pillow, and your head turned to one side. Often gregarious and brash people, but can be nervy and thin-skinned underneath, and don't like criticism, or extreme situations.
Starfish
Lying on your back with both arms up around the pillow. These sleepers make good friends because they are always ready to listen to others, and offer help when needed. They generally don't like to be the centre of attention.
The remainder of those in the poll said the position they fell asleep varied or did not know.
Professor Idzikowski also examined the effect of various sleeping positions on health. He concluded that the freefall position was good for digestion, while the starfish and soldier positions were more likely to lead to snoring and a bad night's sleep.
Professor Idzikowski said "Lying down flat means that stomach contents can more readily be worked back up into the mouth, while those who lie on their back may end up snoring and breathing less well during the night. "Both these postures may not necessarily awaken the sleeper but could cause a less refreshing night's sleep."
The research also found that most people are unlikely to change their sleeping position. Just 5% said they sleep in a different position every night.
Do you agree with Professor Idzikowski's assessments?

Harlequin Fetus: the scariest congenital birth defect
No other congenital birth defects are as disturbing to the eye than this photo of a baby that is suffering from a rare disease called Harlequin Ichthyosis or commonly known as Harlequin Fetus. In this rare genetic disorder, which occurs in 1 in 300,000 births, babies are born with a massive horny shell of dense platelike scales and contraction abnormalities of the eyes, ears, mouth and appendages. Basically, wherever a fold would normally occur in a newborn baby, these poor souls have cracks.
Most babies born with this condition die within the first few hours or days after birth from the undernourishment caused by the rigidity of the lips, and underventilation and pneumonia because of respiratory distress. Abnormal water loss through the skin and poor temperature regulation lead to risk for infection beginning in the skin as well.
What really causes Harlequin Fetus? The answer is unknown but this disease is commonly inherited from the parents. Most often, the parents of an individual with an autosomal recessive condition, each carry one copy of the mutated gene, but do not show signs and symptoms of the condition. The mutated gene can be passed to the developing fetus, resulting to this really horrific malady.
All i can say is that, these babies are fortunate enough not to survive than be punished by the excruciating pain and suffering that this disease will surely bring throughout their lifetime.

weird sex laws
Since my blog showcases the "world of the bizarre ", i want to share with you these weird sex laws from around the world. This was shared to me by one of my officemates Mayk Da Pogi. Check this out!
1. The penalty for masturbation in Indonesia is decapitation.
2. In Lebanon, men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a male animal is punishable by death.
3. In Bahrain, a male doctor may legally examine a woman’s genitals, but is forbidden from looking directly at them during the examination. He may only see their reflection in a mirror.
4. Muslims are banned from looking at the genitals of a corpse. This also applies to undertakers; the sex organs of the deceased must be covered with a brick or piece of wood at all times.
5. Most Middle Eastern countries recognize the following Islamic law: “After having sexual relations with a lamb, it is a mortal sin to eat its flesh.”
6. There are men in Guam whose full-time job is to travel the countryside and deflower young virgins, who pay them for the privilege of having sex for the first time. Reason: under Guam law, it is expressly forbidden for virgins to marry.
7. In Cali, Colombia, a woman may only have sex with her husband, and the first time this happens her mother must be in the room to witness the act.
8. In Santa Cruz, Bolivia it is illegal for a man to have sex with a woman and her daughter at the same time.
9. In Maryland, it is illegal to sell condoms from vending machines with one exception: prophylactics may be dispensed from a vending machine only “in places where alcoholic beverages are sold for on the premises.”
10. In Hong Kong, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands. (The husband’s lover, on the other hand, may be killed in any manner desired).
Odd photo of the day
The Magic Tap appears to float in the sky with an endless supply of water. In reality, a pipe is hidden in the stream of water, supporting the giant tap, making it look like floating in the air.
for smokerz: this is for you
Let's give two thumbs up to Schnaider! If you are thinking about quiting your smoking, then maybe this cigarette tea can help. Though this may not give you the satisfaction you are getting from cigars, it can somehow give you a fag feel without harming your health.
These seemingly cigarettes are actually tea bags or packs that are meant to be dipped into your hot cup of coffee. Instead of tobacco, tea is placed inside the cigarette stick. Its filter works as a float. Try it and surely this will bring fun to your life!

An Island Made Out of Plastic Bottles?
Would you believe that plastic bottles can actually support an artificial island? I mean a man-made island? Well, my post will surely amaze you. This will challenge the ultimate land fill nightmare with almost 250,000 bottles plus wood and bamboo to to support the structure.
This is called the Spiral Island. This is a floating artificial island located in a lagoon near Puerto Aventuras, on the Caribbean coast of Mexico south of Cancún. It was built by British eco-pioneer Richart (or "Rishi") Sowa beginning in 1998. He is a musician, artist, and carpenter. Now in his fifties, he is an environmentalist who believes in recycling and low-impact living.
In the making of his paradise island, he filled nets with empty discarded plastic bottles to support a structure of plywood and bamboo, on which he poured sand and planted numerous plants, including mangroves. It took him 3 years to complete his masterpiece. Unfortunately, in 2005, it was destroyed by the hurricane Emily.
Richie Sowa has started building a new better Spiral Island in Isla Mujures Mexico just off Cancun. Below are the photos:

I'll give you updated photos once the new floating island of Sowa is completed.

the toilet house
The comfort that we enjoy and relish inside our comfort rooms is incomparable to the comfort that we experience in any other parts of our house. Among the fixtures inside it that serves to be the most useful is the t-bowl. This is where we release all our "natural dark secrets" and flush our "liquid dreams" haha what a relief!
But what if one day you just found yourself living inside a giant t-bowl? Yes, a t-bowl for a home. Probably you'll panic right? You might think this is crazy but this photo below will prove you wrong.
FRONT VIEW
TOP VIEW
Located in the city of Suweon, 40km south of Seoul, this Toilet-Shaped House was built and owned by Sim Jae-duck, the chairman of the organizing committee of the Inaugural General Assembly of the World Toilet Association. His toilet-inspired house is intentionally built to highlight the global need for better sanitation. The owner even named it as Haewoojae, a korean name which means "a place of sanctuary where one can solve one's worries".
The toilet-shaped house stretches as 419sq m with two bedrooms, two guestrooms and other rooms. This two-storey house of course features three deluxe toilets. Unlike the giant “toilet” in which they are located, they will not be seen-through affairs.

top 3 worst celebritiy plastic surgeries ever (eewwwwww)
Thinking about going under the knife for beauty's sake? Well, think twice. You might just get the same results with these celebrities:
Topping the list is Jocelyn Wildenstein who spent $4 million dollars in plastic surgery. And the result? "a face that she will regret the rest of her life". This is what you call the "living catwoman". Look below her before and after photo:
BEFORE
AFTER
Second in the list is Amanda Lepore, an American transgender icon who has received great attention in her modelling, fashion, partying and business skills. Obsessed of getting the look far from her "birth face", a face that left no trace of humanity is the result.
And third, the most popular and the KING OF POP "WACKO JACKO". As a joke goes: Only in America that a poor black boy can turn into a beautiful white woman.

be awed
Just want to share these real cool photos. Got them on my email. Hope you enjoy these.
Here are 7 pictures of (European) semi-trucks whose trailers are decorated to look like the sides are missing and the products they are hauling are painted on the sides and back.
The first one is of a bottle of beer and looks so real, like it is coming out the side of the trailer.
The second is of canvas tote bag.
The third is of Pepsi cases and they are all stacked on the ceiling, and the bottom of the trailer is empty.
The fourth is of another truck with the windshield facing the back and there has been a driver painted in the driver's seat looking back over his shoulder to appear like he is driving backwards.
The fifth one is of an aquarium with fish swimming in it.
The sixth one is of a bookshelf with books lined up in it and a post-it-note with an advertisement on it, probably for the company that sells the books. (Again, in a foreign language)
The last one is for Pringles-Hot & Spicy. The "inside" of the trailer has the appearance of having been through a fire.

rarest eye colors
It is said that the eyes are the mirror of our soul. They reflect our feelings, needs, and present emotional state. But more than that, the eyes are the primary human features that we see and notice in a person. In fact, they are the ones that attracts us towards an individual.
One prominent feature that can be noticed in the eye is its color. There are basically different eye colors and these are dependent on the type of pigments prensent in the eye's iris. The main reason of varying eye colors is the melanin content within the iris stroma.
The most common eye colors are brown, hazel, gray, and blue. On the other hand, the rarest eye colors are amber, green, violet, red, and black.
Here are some photos of people having the rarest eye color.
Amber
Amber eyes can be defined as the ones having a strong yellowish/golden and russet/coppery tint. The reason behind amber eyes is the deposition of ‘lipochrome’, the yellow pigment, in the iris. It is a very rare eye color and also known as ‘wolf eyes’, since amber eye color is very common in wolves.
Green
Green eye color is amongst the rarest eye color, with only 1-2% of the world's population born with green eyes. The reason for green eye color is the production of moderate amounts of melanin. People born in Northern Europe and Nordic countries (like Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany, and Netherlands) usually have green eyes.
Violet
Violet eyes are mainly seen in albinos. In effect, the eyes of some albinos appear to be violet because of the mixing of red and blue reflections. Violet eyes are either a form of blue eyes or a mutation.
Red
Red is probably the rarest eye color amongst the human population of the world. It is mainly seen in case of albinos and is the result of either large quantities of the ‘normally scarce’ red areas in the eyes or a small leakage of blood into the iris.
Black
Black is amongst the rarest eye colors in the world. Most of the people who appear to have black eyes have, infact, extremely dark brown eyes that seem to be black.
