Incuse and raised B mint mark

A reader asked me "How to know if I have a incuse or raised B mark on my Straits Settlements coin?". First, you need to know that "B" is a mint mark for Bombay Mint, one of the oldest Asian Mint. Bombay is now changed it name to Mumbai. The mint was established in 1829 by the governor of Bombay presidency. Some history book recorded that Bombay Mint started by British East India Company since 1671 and the coin is made from hammer and anvil. Bombay Mint also one of the Mint beside Sydney which struck British Gold Sovereign.

The B mint mark in Straits Settlements series exist in King Edward VI and King George V coins. You can find the mint mark for that coin on the king crown near the descending "T". Most of the time, the mark is hard to see since it is missing when the coin get circulated. Its a bit hard for me to find, raised mint mark that I can take photograph and put it in this blog. This is the best picture that I can get at this time. As you can see, the raised mark is just look like a small bump that look like "B" on the center of the crown.

I am not having problem finding any incuse mark coins since I can find many of it on my 1919 King George V coins. Incuse is the opposite of raised. Incuse means that the mint mark is sunken or press in the coin. The mint mark normally sunk into a coin, as opposed to a raised design. As you can see in this picture, the mark is stamped into the coin. I am not expert though, feel free to correct me if any information I am giving in here is wrong.
