This is an odd case of a dead man who was left standing even in his wake. This was so because of the young man's last wish. The victim had long said that he want to be upright for his own wake. He was found dead under the bridge in San Juan and the police are still investigating.
A funeral home used a special embalming treatment to keep the body standing upright all throughout the 3-day wake. Dressed in a Yankees baseball cap and sunglasses, Pantoja was mourned by relatives while propped upright in his mother's living room.
